I didn’t want to buy one of these disposable slicers. I have bought many from the local stores and they last about 3 months max. At that point the plastic breaks, blades rust or the whole thing basically falls apart. I was willing to pay a bit more, but wasn’t going to get ripped by outfits like Pampered Chef, etc… This was perfect. I like the 12 slices instead of the 8 I was seeing around Amazon. I don’t have to dislocate my jaw to eat a slice and coworkers don’t have to wait 5 minutes while I chew if they have a question! Highly recommend!

For a little 10 dollar item, this thing works great! Very easy to use, blades are sharp, and it cuts apples, pears and other fruits perfectly. You can really make a nice presentation with guests. Buy one!

I purchased this tool after an earlier tool broke. This item is much more sturdy, very sharp. You should know it slices segments into small pieces, perfect for children and people with swallowing problems. Highly recommended.

I really like this apple slicer it is the third one I bought the first two are identical but this one’s larger I had bought some apples and they were too big to use with the existing slicer that I have so I had to cut them by hand I went looking and found this one which is larger and works great

This is a quality piece of equipment. Be careful the blades are razor sharp which is what you need for this type of device.Normally a knife cuts by gliding across the surface. Within one of these it is a direct down push having to puncture the skin of the apple along each surface; so super sharp rules, and this one does it splendidly. You just exert a very moderate amount of force and you instantly have 12 precut sliced, and the core is there to throw away. I just ran some water over it and it cleaned right up. You want to wash it right away. Dry hardened material would require a special brush so you are not exposing fingers to the sharp surface.Works great, cleans up perfectly with just a rinse. No waste that is normal trying to cut around the core of the apple, not to mention all of the wasted time. Get one.

This apple slicer is wonderful. It can easily slice the largest apples. It’s made of entirely of steel, and is very sturdy. It’s very easy to get 12 slices within just a few seconds.

Our teenage daughter holds an epic bake sale for charity every summer. This year, we baked 20 fruit pies. Just before we were in the throes of baking, I mentioned to my husband that the apple chopper was about to break (plastic handles) and would not survive the coming baking storm. He purchased this chopper for her. It’s nice and sharp and very study. It made bake sale season just a little easier.

I use this product for slicing apples, and when I say apples I mean the BIG apples that are about 3 to 3-1/2 inches in diameter. First of all, the most important point I want to make is that the blades on this slicer are very, very sharp. I told my wife they’re as sharp as razor blades so be very careful! But it’s the sharpness of each individual blade that makes this product easy to use. This slicer will cut an apple into 12 slices and if the blades aren’t as sharp as they are, you’d never be able to cut through some of the harder apples. Next, put a cutting board beneath your apple so you don’t cut into your countertop surface. After you get your apple positioned on your cutting board, it’s important to get the slicer aligned with the centerline of the apple core by looking down through the center of the corer. Once aligned, gently get the slicer started by just slicing through the skin. Then when you think you’re centered and ready to slice, get a good grip on the slicer and, with a burst of energy, push down hard on the slicer with both hands and don’t stop until you feel it hit the cutting board. If you stop, it may be hard to get it going again. Once finished, the apple slices are positioned nicely for you to pull out of the slicer and the core is positioned for easy removal too. Lastly, I carefully pull any remaining apple skin and small pieces of apple from the slicer and wash it with a hot water spray. I carefully dry the slicer with a towel from the top (sharp edges down). This is one of the greatest time savers I’ve seen. About a month ago, I wanted to start eating an apple a day (by slicing) and I know I wouldn’t have stuck with that habit if I didn’t have this device to make it so easy. I’d highly recommend this slicer!!!

Heavy duty construction. Sharp cutting blades. Need to exert sufficient pressure to initiate cut…important to keep tool level with even pressure while slightly rocking tool left and right instead of direct downward pressure. Cutting is even a precise. I use it for apples and pears. This tool presents a large diameter cutting area however it is a good to insure apples, etc. are not “super sized”. It will be interesting to learn the effective life of the cutting blades as a practical way to sharpen does not appear to be an option. Nonetheless this tool appears to be good value for the money as opposed to other less expensive knock-offs.
